The team
Our News team delivers high quality and trustworthy television and online coverage that regularly attracts audiences in excess of 3.5 million viewers. It’s a fast moving environment with a huge variety of roles and challenges on offer. We operate in 11 main news production centres across England, Northern Ireland, Wales and the Channel Islands. We also have a Political Unit and a Weather centre based in Millbank, London. And finally, we produce a range of current affairs & factual programming out of ITV Wales, UTV and ITV Border.
The role
ITV News Calendar is the regional news programme for Yorkshire and Lincolnshire, broadcasting bulletins and programmes seven days a week from a base in Leeds. Our team also produces online coverage and content for ITVX.
We're looking for a highly organised office professional with great Google G Suite skills and love of ITV News to join our regional team as a production coordinator.
You will provide confidential administrative support to the Head of News, Operations Manager and management team to ensure the smooth running of our busy newsroom.
We’re looking for proven experience in diary and email management, travel planning and meeting coordination.
You’ll also help manage invoices and orders, along with supporting the management team with recruitment processes. You’ll help provide department induction, and with the organisation of the scheme that gives potential new talent an insight into how we work.
You’ll have strong communication skills and the ability to plan and organise team events.
As you could be the first point of contact for many of our visitors, you’ll have a welcoming manner and know how to get the best out of people. You will also be asked to support the production of our programmes by assisting with autocue, rostering and other tasks as required.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
  • Very strong organisational skills and able to demonstrate the ability to multitask and prioritise as appropriate.
  • Strong IT G Suite skills including Google sheets, building Google slide presentations
  • Proven experience of diary management
  • Prior experience in a PA or TA role
  • Administration experience within a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrate an interest in regional news and a willingness and aptitude to learn about the ITV News production process
Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
  • Working knowledge of Freecon  preferred, but not essential
  • A confident, calm and friendly manner on the phone and face-to-face with the ability to use your initiative and knowledge to deal with sometimes complex questions and issues as they occur
  • Ability to work as part of a successful multi-skilled team
  • Approachable, friendly and maintaining a positive attitude, whilst working under pressure to tight deadlines
